OSRS Gold: Are We In Danger Too?
Just when you thought that things won’t get any worse for OSRS players, another account was hacked. Yes, this is nothing new but this latest incident will scare you more than usual. If you have anxiety that your OSRS Gold can be hacked anytime, that is understandable. You are not paranoid, at least in my opinion. In terms of Old School Runescape security and how hackers pick which account and the time they do their deeds, it isn’t safe anymore, 24/7.
OSRS Gold: Hacking Incident
Okay, you would think these OSRS hackers have decency to target accounts that are either inactive for days or at least the player is not playing at the moment. Well, we guessed wrong. They don’t pick the time and who they hack.
I happened to come across a post about a hacking incident that happened while the player was streaming! Yes, while many viewers are watching the innocent streamer play OSRS, these digital criminals decided to attack his account.
Here is the original post with the link to the actual stream footage:
Right from my stream. currently appealing it. But would be nice if my 2 step worked if they changed my password. If i lose anything I’m gonna be really upset. was wearing slayer gear with spectral shield and hasta doing cerb.
got account back. lost everything. im done streaming osrs. they had my pin. and sold and took everything.
Scary isnt’ it? You wouldn’t know when the hackers will strike. Whether you’re logout or not, even if you’re streaming, hackers will still try to make way to get access on your OSRS account. Sad thing about this is that the streamer had his security setup. As said in his post, he hoped his step 2 worked. Meaning, hackers cannot change anything in the account without him knowing first. Sad also that in his update, he lost everything, even his Old School Runescape Gold. I do not know what will Jagex do about this and what will the whole OSRS community will think. Hopefully this won’t be the downfall of the game.
