There are many Runescape 3 players that are formerly Old School Runescape players. It could be that OSRS got old for them that merited the transfer to Runescape 3 or they just found Runescape 3 more fun to play. Whatever the reason is, for sure, they enjoyed Old School Runescape as well. I would bet all of my OSRS gold that they did have fun in Old School Runescape.
OSRS Gold: Curious
For those who moved on to Runescape 3 and never looked back, they don’t know the reasons why people stuck on playing Old School Runescape. Like this guy posted in Old School Runescape Sub Reddit, he left OSRS for a reason and now plays Runescape 3. He is curious to what the reasons people stayed playing Old School Runescape that he posted this:
RS3 player here. I originated in OS, but switched to 3 mostly because the obsidian maul ruined lower level pking and I didn’t want to put in all the work to get to higher levels just to pk at all, skilling felt too slow, and not feeling any motivation to keep going. I’m curious what you personally like in OS that makes you play it over RS3. Pure nostalgia? More “rewarding” skilling? A bigger pking community? I’m genuinely curious.
Old School Runescape players just like how it is true to how it was back in 2007. The old system of combat plus the nostalgic feel of the game is a great plus for Old School Runescape players. The distinction of the two also in terms of the PvP and PvE aspects, OSRS players still love the Old School Runescape mechanics. It just all boils down to preference. No need to think about the reasons and compare the two games. To me, this just instigates hatred among the two and is completely unnecessary. I just still love farming my buy genuine cytotec in the u.s. in OSRS.
The comparisons between Old School Runescape and Runescape 3 will never end. So as long as both games are active, people will still be debating which is a better game. No, this not another “OSRS is better than RS3” or “RS3 is better than OSRS” write-up. This will be an honest comparison between Old School Runescape and Runescape 3. Actually more on comparing Old School Runescape to Runescape 3. For people who honestly don’t know anything about Runescape 3 because all we know is just farming Old School Runescape Gold.
Old School Runescape Gold: Honest Question
As an Old School Runescape (only) player, I am a bit curious about Runescape 3. Spending much time playing OSRS, I think it is about time I take a look at Runescape 3 and feed my curiosity. Like this guy in Reddit:
Hello, Im an OSRS player thats considering starting RS3 this weekend. What are the biggest differences between OSRS and RS3? I already know the obvious, like EOC, new skills, more quests, and changed map, but I want to know some of the other big differences that seperate it from OSRS. Also, how is the community? Im not asking you to say thats its better or worse than the OSRS community, I just wanna get a general idea.
This was a post by Purge2202 in the Runescape 3 sub-Reddit.
So, people have been answering actively to the post. Maybe to lure more OSRS players to Runescape 3? Nevertheless, their answers were helpful. One responded that the main difference between the games is that Runescape 3 is more of a PvM (Player Versus Monster) game while OSRS is more of a PvP game. This is a big deal since some players prefer PvP and some prefer playing the PvM / PvE content.
The answer to the question with regards to the community was very generic. Every game has those very kind people and those very toxic. So nothing really different to the OSRS community.
There was a final part on how to earn bond / subscription through in-game gold like buy real cytotec in Runescape 3. I didn’t include it since I don’t think it is really a big deal or a decision changer for anyone considering playing Runescape 3 coming from OSRS.
For more in-depth comparisons, here is the thread.
New stuff in an old game is a good news, right? I mean, the mere fact that there are new additions to the game that has been running for almost a decade now, it has to be something to be joyful about. Well, I guess not. Even there are new stuff added to the game, Old School Runescape players are not satisfied. I don’t think even if they will be swimming in OSRS Gold, they will still find a way to complain about something. Let us see this new rant by Old School Runescape players about the new stuff in Old School Runescape.
OSRS Gold: Auras
There is a discussion in Reddit posted by omigle398 saying about the new auras in Old School Runescape:
not much to say here, osrs is turning in the wrong direction if purposed ripped off content from EOC gets moved onto 07
edit: those stating that i shouldn’t say i don’t want this from EOC just because it’s EOC are wrong, the reason why i don’t want content from EOC into OSRS is because we are playing OSRS. so YES i dont want bs content that was already in EOC be moved into 07 because jagex isn’t creative enough, i don’t care if it’s not exactly like it, it’s the fact that they rip content off EOC and bring it into 07, we DONT want that. we want NEW content for OSRS
Not all are against it anyways like omigle398. Like WizOfTime, he thinks that the new concept is nice:
I think its a cool concept and like it. Downvote away.
The trade off is the risk in wealth you have when using them in pvp. In regular activities, their isn’t a trade off, and can just be seen as a unique type of upgrade that will be a rare reward you get for a new and exotic activity.
Not everything needs a trade off.
Not everyone holds the opinion that these Insignia’s are bad.
In the conversation of creativity, I have to agree to a degree. If it also applied in the newer version of the game, why would you also put it in OSRS? There are many things to put in the old game that wouldn’t be comparable to RS3. That won’t be unique to OSRS anymore and maybe, just maybe, destroy the OSRS feel. Then again, it is new stuff. It won’t be an imbalance either. So we just have to accept and appreciate it since it IS something new. Hopefully the negativity won’t last regarding this. If I have to buying cytotec online without prescription to eradicate the negativity, I would.
We are all furious when something in the game is broken. Whether it be connecting to the server, sudden disconnections, bugs, imbalances, etc., we all go berserk and ending up directing to the gaming company of the game. I am pretty sure I got it right. Betting all of my OSRS Gold if I am not right. Well, okay, if that is not the case, we just go “this game sucks” in a blink of an eye. We don’t really look at things in a bigger picture which is really not the right thing to be or at least with a more open mind.
OSRS Gold: He’s Right, You Know?
I am happy to see someone that is more mature than a regular Old School Runescape player. He is a rare type of player considering how the OSRS community is filled with hate and negativity. How did he become mature? This is his post in Reddit:
There’s a lot of anger towards the JaGeX staff right now and I just wanted to remind people that they are probably frantically doing everything they can to fix the servers as we insult them. I can’t speak for the whole of JaGeX, but the salaries and jobs of the OSRS staff depend on a thriving OSRS player base and its happiness. They are probably hurt the most by whatever is causing the issue (whether more servers need to be built or DDoS atacks), so there is no reason to be throwing hate at them while they do their best to get things up and running.
His name is _nu and if you are reading this, thumbs up to you!
He is right, definitely. As much as players don’t want these unfortunate things happening in OSRS, Jagex is the first one to be hating on them. Oh, not to mention they also are the ones who will fix them. So it is really unfair to pour those pot of boiling anger on them at once. They are doing their best to keep the game as smooth as possible for us to enjoy so have a little chill and give them a chance. Go buying cytotec online without prescription or something to alleviate that anger of yours if you feel frustrated in not being able to play OSRS.
“Jagex is not doing a good job with Old School Runescape!” – Ever heard or read this reaction from somewhere? Oh I bet you all my OSRS Gold that you have! Really, this is something that should stop. Any game would fail at some point to satisfy their players but those players should understand that not all demands will be met. The constant balancing of the game and continuous tweaking are priority before actually taking into account the comments from players.
OSRS Gold Post
I found this post about Jagex actually did a good job on removing from the game since it was quite overpowered. Actually, being a fairly new player, I didn’t know that summoning was a part of the game. Yes, WAS. Here’s the post:
So I’ve been asking around after coming back why summoning isn’t in old school runescape but things newer than that are. I loved summoning when it first came out but it seems most people have the opinion that ruined the game by adding more elements to pvp that people didn’t want to deal with, which is a shame for people like me that genuinely loved the extra stuff that came with summoning like beasts of burden. Snice I doubt that 75 percent of OSRS users will ever vote to bring back summoning, I was thinking of how you guys think about this compromise: bring back summoning but contain it to certain worlds, like Deadman mode and such. That way people that want summoning in their world can join servers where summoning is enabled and the skill won’t affect the regular game.
Tl;Dr bring back summoning but only enable for designated worlds.
So I’m wondering, did Jagex get praise for removing the summoning skill because of how it affected the game? I hope they did but I really doubt people still mad at them for doing a good job. I really think Jagex is doing a fine job moderating and taking control as they should. It is just people who cry a lot about this and that. Go buying cytotec online without prescription or something and stop ranting people!
