Imp Catcher starts in the Wizards’ Tower, but it can take you all over Runescape whilst searching for the Wizard Grayzag’s imps who have stolen the Wizard Mizgog’s beads. Helping Mizgog: An Overview of the Imp Catcher F2P Quest
Head to the Wizard’s Tower, south of Draynor Village over a stone bridge. Go up the beam in the center of the tower to reach the first floor where you will find Wizard Mizgog, located to the south and in the first room to your right. Ask him what’s wrong to prompt the quest and he will tell you of Wizard Grayzag’s imps that have stolen his beads. He will then ask you to retrieve the beads for him: a black bead, a yellow bead, a red bead, and a white bead. There are two ways to go about this, which will be discussed further below.
Method # 1: Obtaining Beads in the Imp Catcher F2P Quest
Traditionally, you can get beads by killing imps. Remember to pack an activated impious urn as it will automatically collect the impious ashes of dead imps in your travel kit. A good place to farm is the volcano at Musa Point, on the island of Karamja. A lot of imps spawn here, but be wary of scorpions, for they can be dangerous if you are low-levelled. Head over to the west side of the volcano since there are no scorpions and the imps of Karamja can be safely pursued there. There is also another safe place between the Tower of Life and the Kandarin Monastery. There are about 5 – 6 imps here, and there are no dangerous monsters to avoid. Do note that the area is wooded, thus limiting your movement, and the area is also for members only. Another F2P area for players is the south entrance of Falador which has around 3 imp respawns. You can also find some around the outskirts of Lumbridge. Keep killing imps until you have all four beads on you. For higher levelled players, a good spot to find imps in larger quantities is the resource dungeon inside the Karamja Volcano. If you have a Dungeoneering level of at least 25, enter the dungeon to find up to 11 imps inside, along with 14 lesser demons. Killing imps is ideal because not only do you get the beads out of it, you also earn rsgold while you’re at it. It’s a win-win situation, eh?
Method # 2: Obtaining Beads in the Imp Catcher F2P Quest
Don’t have the time to run around slaying imps here and there? Luckily for you, there’s another option. Alternatively, a player can have purchase all four of the beads in the Grand Exchange, when you buy RS gold. If you’re in a hurry, you can always buy cheap Runescape gold from other players. Though, this is only recommended for players who do not have the luxury of time. Anyway, it might be a good idea to start this quest before other quests as you can just kill any imps you see during your travels. No need to rush!
Returning the Beads in the Imp Catcher F2P Quest
After obtaining all of the four beads, simply return to Wizard Mizgog and give them to him to complete the quest. He will reward you with 1 Quest Point, 875 Magic XP, Amulet of Accuracy, and two Treasure Hunter Keys.
